Training and Services for Job Seekers
Orientation ClassThe Job Search Techniques class is the first step to accessing all of Connections services. Simply call the office and say you want to register. A short orientation is required in order to take advantage of a one-on-one session with counselors and other Connections offers. Topics covered include:
One-on-One AssistanceAfter attending Orientation, you may make an appointment for an individual meeting with a Job Advsior. Your Job Advisor will discuss your job history, your goals and desires for your new position, and will assist you with best options. She will review your existing resume or help you create a new one, will discuss training, provide job leads, and interview clothing, if needed. This is the chance to get professional assistance and learn how to make the most of your job search. Computer TrainingOffered to all Connections Job Search clients, computer training is provided in several ways. Call the office to find out class times and learn more! Self-training/Tutorials Group Computer Classes Work with a computer volunteer in the lab Computer LabConnections offers a computer lab that allows job seekers access to computers, Internet, printer, and fax machine to conduct the job search, prepare cover letters and resumes, and check email. Use of computers is open to any job seeker who has been through Orientation during regular office hours.
